Diane Ruth Carlsen Page Diane Ruth Carlsen Page, 50, of Burlington, Vt., died Feb. 4 in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. She and her husband, Guy, established the North Avenue News of Burlington, which they began publishing in 1992 after a similar publication in North Burlington, That Paper, ceased publication. Page and her husband were the owners and only two employees at the North Avenue News. They sold the newspaper a few years later. Besides her husband, she leaves her father, Clarence; her mother, Helen Ann; two sons, Tim and Joe; a daughter, Imani; two sisters; a brother. Donald Gorman, 87, of Wethersfield, Conn., died Feb. 4 in Wethersfield Healthcare Center. In 1954, he and his wife, Mary, established the Yankee Flyer, a weekly advertising newspaper in the Bloomfield, Simsbury and Farmington areas in Connecticut. It has remained family-owned and operated for more than a half century. He also had been news editor for WTIC-AM of Hartford, Conn. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Matt; a daughter, Kathy; nine grandchildren; a sister. Barbara (Durland) Devlin, 60, died unexpectedly Feb. 13 in her home in Chester, Conn. Devlin worked in publishing for the past 30 years. For nearly 10 years, she worked with Guilford, Conn.-based Shore Line Newspapers, where she began as a sales representative and eventually became general manager of the then-Old Lyme (Conn.) Gazette. For the past 20 years, she worked for the Yale Alumni Magazine. Devlin leaves her husband, Kevin, whom she married in 2005; two sons, Jake and Don; a stepdaughter, Kimberly; three step-grandchildren.
He was a longtime police and fire reporter for the former Evening Gazette of Worcester, Mass. He received 35 awards for his work. He also wrote four books: “The Blunts: A History,” “Inside the Battle of the Bulge, A Private Comes of Age,” “Foot Soldier: A Combat Infantryman’s War in Europe,” and “Police Beat.” He leaves three sons, Rockie, Randie and Richard; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Laura (Mead King) Daggett Kolstad, 88, of Palm City, Fla., died Feb. 4 in Water’s Edge Extended Care in Palm City. She was a writer, contributor and editor for the Shore Line Times of Guilford, Conn. She leaves a son, Alexander; a grandson; a great-grandson. Bruce B. Talbot Bruce B. Talbot, 61, of Moretown, Vt., died Jan. 23 of a brain tumor. Talbot was a freelance reporter at the Democratic and Republican conventions in Miami Beach in 1972. He went on to work as a wire service correspondent for the United Press International in Vermont. Albert Sambrook Sr., 81, of Shelton, Conn., died Feb. 10 at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Conn. Sambrook retired 19 years ago from the Connecticut Post of Bridgeport after more than 35 years as a pressman there. He leaves his wife, Arlene; three sons, Albert Jr., Frank and William; two daughters, Sharon and Joanne; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild. Richard

Crew had worked in the credit department at The Standard-Times of New Bedford. He leaves a daughter, Janice; three grandchildren; a sister; a brother. Margaret L. (Rousse) Bagalio, 89, of Edgewater, Fla., died Feb. 5 at Florida Hospital in DeLand, Fla. Bagalio was an advertising secretary for The Times Argus of Barre and Montpelier, Vt., before retiring in 1980. She leaves three daughters, Sandra, Gail and Donna; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Dorothy Nash, 89, of Dover, N.H., died Jan. 7 in Riverside Rest Home in Dover. She was an editor at newspapers in Newton, Watertown and Melrose, all in Massachusetts. She leaves two cousins, Robert and Beverly.
Andrew was an apprentice printer for several newspapers in Connecticut and later in Massachusetts. He leaves four children, Veronica, Andrew, Regina and Barbara; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 73 years, Madeline, who died Oct. 26, 2008. Wallace C. Cone Sr., 84, of Rocky Hill, Conn., died Jan. 31 in Apple Rehab in Rocky Hill after a brief illness. Cone delivered The Hartford (Conn.) Courant newspapers to the South End community in Hartford. He leaves a daughter, Sandra; two sons, Wallace Jr. and Kevin; a grandson; and a brother. Alvord
C. Hutchinson He was an independent contractor delivering The Republican of Springfield, Mass., for more than 30 years. He leaves his wife, Sylvia; two sons, Allan and Donald; a daughter, Darlene; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister.
